How convenient for them that the lander landed almost completely level. What are the odds?
WE USED THE GRAVITATIONAL PULL OF THE SPHERICAL MARS IN ORDER FOR IT TO LAND.

It is SO LARGE that in a single spot, it would seem level

IMHO this money should spent on something really worthwhile like a cure for cancer resulting in  tangible benefits for many people.  How wrong is it possible to be in deciding the nation's priorities?   :-\
imho, space travel is the most worth while to spen money one. if the earth becomes uninhabitable it doesn't matter that anyone has cancer.
